Government Advocacy

BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association takes a pro-active role in legislative and government matters, working with the provincial government to effect changes that benefit the tourism and accommodation industry. Acts and Regulations are constantly under review by government, many of which have a direct impact on members. The Association tries to be vigilant in its efforts to ensure that any impact is minimized.

Policies

BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association has a policy document that is reviewed annually by members at the Annual General Meeting. Meetings occur frequently between the Board of Directors and key provincial government ministers to address concerns and recommend solutions.

The Association currently has policies on:

  • Property Assessment and Property Taxes
  • Employment Issues
  • Transportation Needs
  • Lodging Issues
  • Campground Issues
  • Marketing
  • Other General Business / Tourism Policies

As well, BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association recognizes the importance of working with other industry associations, both national and provincial, to bring about changes for the tourism industry as a whole.
