This fall, check out the charming city of Kimberley in the Kootenay Rockies and enjoy a Community Fair (Sept 21 & 22), a brand new indoor climbing wall, and other amenities. Kimberley is located on Highway 95A, 32 km (20 mi) north of Cranbrook in south-eastern British Columbia and 407 km (253 mi) west of Calgary, Alberta.
While in town there's no better place to stay than the Kimberley Riverside Campground. Located only 8 minutes from Kimberley's downtown centre and nestled in the pristine St. Mary River valley, the campground offers incredible scenery, quiet & relaxing surroundings and a wide array of special attractions. Owned by the City of Kimberley, it's operated by the Kimberley Community Development Society as a non-profit organization.
The campground has over 140 spacious private sites with partial or full services including power (15-50 amp), water and sewer, back in or pull-through sites, and a variety of tenting options.
Beyond beautiful scenery and great sites, the campground has a number of special attractions that make this a must-stay spot.
Their recently-opened putting course is like playing 18 holes on a championship course - only in miniature! Just over 23,000 sq ft in size, this course features water ponds, streams and waterfalls, rock-terraced fairways and greens, real sand traps, and beautiful landscaping, with all 18 holes fully wheelchair accessible.
Visit by mid-September and enjoy a heated resort pool furnished with lounge chairs, shaded pergola, a poolside commercial ping pong table, and spacious poolside deck viewing area - the perfect place to sit and relax in the sun or shade.
The campground is surrounded by 4km (and counting) of hiking trails and is adjacent to The Kimberley Nature Park, one of the largest municipal parks in Canada. Guests can also enjoy catch-and-release fishing along the banks of the St Mary River which winds through the campground.
With laundry facilities, children's playground, picnic shelter, free hot showers, and free internet hotspots, the Kimberly Riverside Campground is the place to stay this fall.
