Known as one of the "best little campsites in BC", Canyon Creek in Hixon is a charming site located just 35 minutes north of Quesnel in the geographic centre of British Columbia.
Hosts Merv and Kim Harvey prescribe their beautiful surroundings, fresh air walks, splashing in the creek, and quiet creek side musings for rest and relaxation. Short on supplies? No problem! Their little store is ready to supply all your short term camping needs. Family friendly, with both full RV hookups, big rig sites, and moss-covered secluded tenting sites, this campground suits all kinds of campers.
A half mile of creek side trails, as well as cross-country ski runs and eco-nature paths are nestled amongst magnificent evergreens and towering cottonwoods. There are several species of fish for fly and creek fishing (season opens July 1), and you can even try your hand at gold panning. Nearby Hixon Falls offers spectacular scenery and a great spot for picnics.
Laundry, hot showers, a pet run (pets are welcome on leashes), and a barbeque pavilion offer all the comforts you'd expect from a top facility. Reservations are recommended, and seniors save 10% on the daily rate.
