Fly fishing in BC is an extraordinary opportunity to connect with nature and explore our province's majestic beauty. Top spots include the Cowichan River on Vancouver Island; the Skagit River near Hope; Plateau Lake near Merritt; Mabel Lake, north of Lumby; and Sunburst Lake in Mt. Assiniboine Provincial Park.
There's a fly fishing spot in every region of the province; but when selecting a location, it's important to find an area that's already experienced some thaw, and waterways with shallow areas (such as creek mouths) conducive to food supply breeding.
Don't forget to bring layer upon layer of clothing as you may encounter some dramatic changes in weather, going from very chilly (snow squalls) to quite balmy in the sun.
