Q. What are the overnight costs to rent a tent site?
A. These will vary depending on location. A campground located in a more remote area of the province and with fewer facilities will charge less than one in a popular resort area. Rates could range from around $17 a night to over $30 a night for an unserviced site.

Q. Can I have a Campfire?
A. The smoke from campfires pollutes our environment; limit your use of campfires to cooking and warmth. Purchase wood from the campground, and observe local burning regulations.

Q. Do campgrounds have pet policies?
A. Most campgrounds allow pets (dogs) however they are required to be on a leash at all times. Pets should not be left at the campsite unattended. Campgrounds may have specific pet policies. Please check with the campground before you arrive.

Q. What are typical Campground Rules?
A. Each campground sets its own rules. Here are a few typical rules - times and details may change.

  • Campground quiet hour 11:00 pm until 8:00 am.
  • All RV park/campground fires to be out by midnight.
  • Check out time 11:00 am.
  • All visitors must check in at office and park vehicles in guest parking provided.
  • No pets permitted in the beach area, playground, swimming pool or recreation hall.
  • Speed limit in campground is 10 km (5 mph).
  • Do not climb or destroy trees.
  • Beach and swimming pool are unsupervised; an adult must accompany children under twelve at all times.
  • Do not feed or encourage wild animals into the RV park/campground.

Q. What Taxes Are Payable?
A. A harmonized sales tax (HST) of 12% is applicable to most goods and services purchased in British Columbia including campsite rentals.
