Kootenay Rockies RVing

Snow-capped mountains, pristine lakes, hot springs and championship golf courses are just some of the reasons to RV and camp in the Kootenay Rockies

Hwy 3 crosses the Kootenay Rockies region in southern British Columbia. It traverses the Central Kootenays, Kootenay Lake, touches on the Valley of a Thousand Peaks and the Elk Valley.  RVers on this route will drive through Castlegar which sits at the confluence of Kootenay Lake and the Columbia River; the city of Nelson and its arts and culture; Creston with its wetlands popular with bird watchers; and Cranbrook.  North from  Cranbrook, Hwy 93/95 takes you through Fort Steele Heritage Town, Fairmont Hot Springs and Radium Hot Springs. The National Parks Corridor straddles the Trans Canada Hwy 1 across the top of this region and includes the towns of Golden and Revelstoke offering stunning views, wildlife, hiking and more; and south from Hwy 1 along Hwy 23 through the Arrow Lakes and Slocan Valley are Nakusp and Halcyon Hot Springs.

Need a place to park your RV or motorhome, the RV parks and resorts in the Kootenay Rockies can be searched by activities such as  "hot springs", "golfing" or "fishing", or geographical terms such as "Balfour", "Kimberley" or "Skookumchuk".

Plan ahead by checking out the attractions and things to do in the Kootenay Rockies.
