Q.  Do you have a Customer Service Guarantee?

Q. Are properties inspected by an independent body?
Approved Accomodations A. Destination British Columbia inspects all accommodation properties in British Columbia with respect to standards of maintenance, cleanliness, comfort and professionalism. Accommodation establishments who meet the standard may display the "Approved Accommodation" sign.

Q. Where can I make a complaint about a lodging property?
A. Complaints about accommodation facilities should first be discussed with the manager of the establishment and, if not resolved, be directed to the Tourism Product Manager, Destination British Columbia, 3rd floor, 1803 Douglas Street, Victoria, BC V8T 5C3 or email productservices@gov.bc.ca

Q. How do I make a reservation at a lodging property listed on this website?
A. To make a reservation at a lodging property, contact the property directly by phone or online via their website. Many offer online booking or email enquiry forms

Q. What credit cards are accepted by lodging properties in British Columbia?
A. Generally, both Visa and MasterCard are accepted at lodging accommodations. Other credit cards may also be accepted. Many lodging properties also accept debit cards.

Q. What room rates are quoted on this website?
A. Room rates quoted often range from the lowest rate to highest rate for both the low and high seasons in British Columbia. As rates are subject to change, it is suggested you contact the lodging property directly to confirm rates.

Q. What taxes will I have to pay on my lodging accommodation?
A. Since April 1, 2013, an 8% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) is charged by hotels, motels, cottages, inns, resorts and other roofed accommodations on all overnight room rentals as well as the 5% Federal Goods and Services Tax (GST).

As well, in British Columbia a Municipal and Regional District Tax (MRDT) of  2% is charged in some 50 provincially approved municipalities by hotels, motels, cottages, inns, resorts and other roofed accommodations. The additional 2% MRDT is only charged on short-term room rentals and does not apply to overnight campsite rentals.

A.  Lodging properties offer a wide selection of amenities such as WiFi so you can connect with your family and friends, a number are pet friendly so you can bring that special companion with you, others offer continental breakfasts or a full dining experience, and some have housekeeping units so you can cater to your own needs in your own time.
