Blue River

Located in a pristine valley of the Columbia Mountain System, the community of Blue River is set amongst lakes, rivers, streams and forests. Blue River is located in one of the most productive areas of snowfall in all of British Columbia. The surrounding area is renowned for its consistent 10m (30 feet) of unique dry Okanagan powder. It’s not surprising to see that Blue River is becoming home to some of British Columbia’s best skiing and snowboarding. In particular, Mike Wiegele’s Helicopter Skiing has become world-renowned for its expeditions into the backcountry powder.

Blue River is the base for many expeditions into the Cariboo Mountains to the north, and Wells Gray Provincial Park to the west. But even with its adventurous surroundings, Blue River retains a modern metropolis feel with hometown values. Here, visitors can find all the unspoiled wilderness of British Columbia’s interior at the doorstep of cozy lodge.
