Chilliwack
The name "Chilliwack" comes from the First Nation people whose communities
form the western edge of the city. A rough translation is “going
back upstream”, which refers to their ancient homeland upstream
on the Chilliwack River. Famous for its sweet corn and other agricultural
products, there are several interesting farm tours in the area, and
local lakes and rivers offer excellent fishing and water sports. Golf
courses and bike trails offer challenges for all skill levels.
