Totem Circle Tour is a 2500km (1550mi) tour perfect for those interested in exploring the rich culture of British Columbia's First Nations people. Passing through historic sites and villages will bring you face to face with diverse people, unique art, centuries old stories and fascinating history. Witness the province's most beautiful and awe-inspiring scenery as you travel over land through the heart of the province and sail the Inside Passage down through the coast's magnificent fjords and rainforests.

Madeira Park

Madeira Park on scenic Pender Harbour is approximately 2 hours traveling time from West Vancouver’s Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. The village has a central shopping area with grocery, liquor and convenience stores, as well as a restaurant and licensed lounge. The communities of Garden Bay, Madeira Park and Irvine's Landing are known collectively as Pender Harbour. Madeira Park was named by Joseph Gonsalves, who settled here in the early 1900s after arriving from Madeira Island near Portugal.

Attractions/Activities

  • Daily cruises depart from Madeira Park to the glacier fjord of Princess Louisa Inlet and the magnificent Chatterbox Falls.
  • Take a short stroll over to delightful Welbourn Cove, where you'll find a marina, a picnic area, boat launch and cultural centre.
  • Directly across the water, off Beaver Island, is Whiskey Slough, once a favourite anchorage for bachelor fishermen of Scottish extraction!
  • Kayakers, boaters and sailors will find Pender Harbour a great place to explore. Here you find peace and quiet in secluded beaches, bays and fjords.
  • Diving. The maze of coves, bays, and islands around Pender Harbour make it the most popular diving spot on the Sechelt Peninsula. You'll need a boat to reach the four most popular sites at Fearney Bluffs, Nelson Rock, and Anderson and Charles Islands.
  • The Francis Point Marine Park was established in May 2001 to protect a rare and important 180-acre piece of pristine waterfront on the Francis Peninsula west, of Madeira Park.
