This document outlines essential guidelines that campgrounds, RV parks, and resorts with cabins, cottages and glamping should adopt as they look at developing or upgrading their own COVID-19 safety plan to restart or ramp up operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The first version was released May 2020 and this is the second version updated in February 2021.
These are suggested practices for businesses and each operation must develop their own COVID-19 business plan and policies to meet WorkSafe BC requirements, which may differ slightly from guidance set out in this document.
The guidance has been developed by the BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association using BC Centre for Disease Control, Canadian Camping and RV Council, go2HR, WorkSafe BC, BC Hotels Association, BC Backcountry Lodge Association, BC Parks, and the BC Fishing Tourism Association guidelines.

Working with key stakeholders, the BC Hotels Association has developed essential guidelines to assist you in developing your own plan to restart or ramp up operations for Phase 3 of the restart plan.
WorkSafe BC requires employers to develop a COVID-19 Safety Plan that outlines the policies, guidelines, and procedures they have put in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
Employers are not required to submit plans to WorkSafe BC for approval, but in accordance with the order of the Provincial Health Officer, this plan must be posted at the worksite.
