Lodging and Camping Profile: Visit Highway 24

Love to fish? This fall make Highway 24 your target and explore the beauty of BC’s interior.  The highway is a modern paved route running between 100 Mile House and Little Fort in the Thompson River Valley. Access premier fly fishing along more than 100 lakes along 115 kilometres.

Ready to hit the Fishing Highway? Even if you leave the rods at home, BC’s interior is home to gorgeous sunsets, hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, and more.

Your camping and lodging options in the area include:

Cariboo Bonanza Resort, 10 minutes from 100 Mile House: this well-known resort on scenic Horse Lake offers a relaxing holiday in a friendly atmosphere. The campsite is a living picture, on a lake surrounded by pine, spruce, fir, and aspen. In addition to 51 RV sites and 10 tent sites on the campgrounds, Cariboo Bonanza offers a choice of modern and rustic cabins and is home to a bed and breakfast. Boat rentals, fishing (lake trout, kokanee, rainbow trout), an archery field, a general store, and old-fashioned hospitality from your hosts Dora and Bruno Sprecher make this a “must stay” stop on Highway 24. Loon Bay Resort Sheridan Lake

Loon Bay Resort, 30 minutes from 100 Mile House: with 48 RV and 11 tenting sites located along the Sheridan Lake waterfront, this full-service campground offers WI-FI, coin showers, washrooms, and a playground. Enjoy the beach, swimming, volleyball, horseshoe pits, fenced dog run, and boat rentals.  The biggest fish caught at Loon Bay this year was a 14 + lb rainbow trout – so come on up and see if you can beat that record! Sheridan Lake Resort, 30 minutes from 100 Mile House: enjoy an unforgettable vacation with perfect scenery, trophy-sized rainbow trout, and a friendly welcome. Hosts Dave and Becky invite you to enjoy their well-equipped cabins, grassy RV sites with power and water, campsites, boat rentals, and moorage. The resort is open year-round for fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Click here for contact info.

Moosehaven Resort, just north of Sheridan Lake: this small, well-maintained spot is nestled in a quiet corner of Hathaway Lake, surrounded by forested crown land. With a large lawn to the water’s edge, the resort is home to 6 clean, comfortable lakefront cabins with well-equipped kitchens, bedding, and sundeck barbeques. The campground features 11 large full facility RV sites (50 or 30 amps), each with a lake view. Motorboat, canoe, rowboat, and pedal boat rentals are available. As the resort property is shared with abundant wildlife and birds, pets are not allowed. Click here for contact info.

Fawn Lake Resort, northwest of Sheridan Lake: this gem of a resort is managed by the Meili family who took over the property after moving to BC from Switzerland. The lakeside location features luxury washrooms with showers & flush toilets, laundry (washing machine & dryer), payphone, covered picnic area, children’s playground, sani-dump, general store, boat launch with rentals, and a fishcleaning station with freezer. Choose from modern, rustic, or cedar cabins equipped for your comfort, and either full-service or tenting campsites. Click here for contact info.

With world-class accommodation, and unparalleled fishing, Highway 24 is sure to please this fall. Happy casting!
