Looking for an outdoor camping experience with more home comforts and amenities and less organizing and packing? Then ‘glamping’ is for you. Here’s a list of some stand-out options in British Columbia.
No RV? No problem. Cabins and RVs can be rented year-round at Camperland RV Resort & Cabins just east of Chilliwack in the Fraser Country. The resort is at the base of Mt Cheam between Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park and Bridal Falls Waterpark, so take your pick with regards to water fun.
Its six two-bedroom camping cabins (some with a hide-a-bed couch) sleep six to eight and feature fully equipped kitchens with Keurig coffee makers, loft area, private firepit, cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Towels and bedding are also included – simply pack your clothes and show up!
There are 11 furnished RVs to rent (TV, heat and A/C included). The units vary in size and sleep from two to six people. Relax outside in Adirondack-style chairs and enjoy the wood burning firepits just off the decks. Kitchens come stocked with utensils and cooking essentials. Bedding and towels are not included (mattress protectors are). Guests are welcome to bring sunshades as the RVs don’t have awnings.
The resort itself has a laundromat, general store, liquor store, recreation hall and clubhouse, seasonal pools and hot tubs (mid-May to mid-September), two playgrounds and themed weekends and activities for the young and young at heart. Pets are welcome at the campsites but not in the cabins and RVs.
