Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands Camping

Explore Vancouver Island's campgrounds or be lured to the Gulf Islands by their quiet charm. Many campsites are located close to the ocean with stunning views of the sea, or the Coast and Olympic mountain ranges.

Campers can enjoy the rugged west coast around Tofino, Ucluelet and Bamfield, or beach-comb and play in the gentler waters of the east coastal towns of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. Further north is salmon country around Campbell River, Courtenay and Comox. Take a scenic drive to Telegraph Cove and on to Port Hardy for more adventure and experiences to remember.

For convenient camping getaways, look to Southern Vancouver Island, from Victoria to Nanaimo and the Southern Gulf Islands. Many campsites are within an hour's drive of the main ferry terminals.

Need a place to park, camp or hook-up a fifth wheel, the campgrounds on Vancouver Island listed below can be searched for activities such as "fishing", "wildlife" or "swimming" or geographical terms such as "Duncan", "Lake Cowichan" or "Port Alberni".

Plan ahead by checking out the attractions and things to do in the main towns located in the Vancouver Island region.
