accommodation approved by Tourism British Columbia meeting their standards of courtesy, comfort and cleanliness - look for the following symbol on your travels.
Although camping may be the reason for selecting a destination, the surrounding activities and attractions also help to make for a memorable camping vacation. The six distinct tourism regions of British Columbia each have their own special attributes. The Thompson Okanagan is well known for the hundreds of wineries that dot the landscape, providing tastings of award winning wines with many also offering local culinary delights. The Kootenay Rockies has superb mountain scenery, natural hot springs and championship golf. Northern British Columbia's rivers and streams run with record-sized salmon and steelhead and the region is home to totem poles, heritage towns and villages. The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast has excellent fishing and abundant wildlife along with its ties to the 1800's Gold Rush Days. Vancouver, Coast and Mountains is home to the city of Metro Vancouver with its world class attractions and entertainment, plus beaches, boating, cycling and hiking opportunities. Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands are the backdrop to an array of beach and seaside activities from whale watching, surfing, boating and building sandcastles!
British Columbia also features seven National Parks . These National Parks protect outstanding examples of Canada's natural environment and provide camping opportunities so that visitors can experience their individual characteristics first hand.
